Fairtrade International, established in 1997, is a non-profit organization that coordinates activities for its 22 member organizations, including three producer networks and 19 national Fairtrade organizations. The organization is responsible for the
FAIRTRADE Mark, a trademark that appears on over 30,000 products worldwide. Fairtrade International's central office in Bonn, Germany, employs about 90 staff members. The organization ensures that all system members and certified producer organizations participate in decision-making through representatives on the Board of Directors and the Fairtrade General Assembly.
