What's Happening?
Novatug, in collaboration with Wärtsilä, has opened a new training centre in Terneuzen, Netherlands, featuring advanced simulation technology to improve tug operations. The centre includes full mission simulators and mixed reality sets designed to train tug masters
in operating the Carrousel Rave Tug (CRT), which enhances control over large vessels in ports. This initiative aims to address challenges posed by large cargo vessels, improving safety and reducing emissions. The training centre is part of a strategic partnership to elevate the safety and efficiency of tug operations globally.
Why It's Important?
The establishment of the Novatug training centre represents a significant advancement in maritime safety and efficiency. By providing realistic training environments, the centre helps close skill gaps and prepares tug masters for the demands of modern port operations. This initiative supports the maritime industry's efforts to enhance safety standards and operational efficiency, which are critical as global shipping volumes increase. The collaboration between Novatug and Wärtsilä underscores the importance of partnerships in driving innovation and improving industry practices.
