The play 'Assata Taught Me,' originally produced in 2017, is set for a revival at Riverside Studios in London from May 12 to 24, 2026. Directed by Kalungi Ssebandeke, the production stars Susan Lawson-Reynolds as Assata Shakur and Ebenezer Gyau as Fanuco
Maceo. The play explores the life of Assata Shakur, an American activist and former Black Panther member who lived in exile in Cuba. The revival is a co-production between LLUTTE Productions and Sse So Productions, featuring a creative team that includes set and costume designers, movement directors, and cultural consultants.
