by users. The technique involves altering the appearance of text using custom fonts and CSS, which remains unchanged in the Document Object Model (DOM) but appears differently to users. LayerX tested this method with a fake phishing page, finding that several AI assistants, including ChatGPT and others, failed to detect the hidden threat. This vulnerability highlights the limitations of current AI tools in identifying phishing attacks that use visual deception. LayerX has reached out to affected vendors, but most have not considered this issue within the scope of AI model security, except for Microsoft.
