Atherstone Sports Club has been awarded over £1 million to install a 3G artificial pitch, funded by the Premier League, Football Association, and the government's Football Foundation, along with £327,000
from North Warwickshire Borough Council. The project, enabled by a 30-year lease on council-owned land, aims to replace one of the club's grass pitches with an all-weather surface. Sarah Carmody, the club's secretary, highlighted the lack of all-weather pitches in the area as a key reason for seeking the funding.
