Ramboll, a global architecture, engineering, and sustainability consultancy, has appointed Darren Carlile as a Director in its Buildings business. Carlile will focus on growth and sales across Transformation and Public Services, particularly in the National
Security and Government, Research, and Polar sectors. His role will support continued government investment in UK defence and security. Carlile brings over 35 years of industry experience, including 24 years as a Royal Engineer officer in the British Army. He previously led AECOM’s Defence and National Security Sector, establishing it as a Tier 1 consultancy to the UK Ministry of Defence and other government departments. His appointment follows the UK Government’s Strategic Defence Review and aims to consolidate Ramboll’s work with various government departments, including the Falkland Islands Government and the British Antarctic Survey.
