What's Happening?
Pilatus Aircraft has announced the acquisition of Air Alliance, a Germany-based company that has been an authorized Pilatus Sales and Service Center since 2014. Air Alliance, established in 1993, provides sales and technical support for Pilatus PC-12
and PC-24 aircraft in Germany and Austria. It also operates a flight training school and offers commercial flights under a professional aircraft management program. The acquisition, which is pending regulatory approvals, will not include Unicair, a subsidiary of Air Alliance that provides ambulance flights. Pilatus plans to retain Air Alliance's staff of approximately 120 employees, with Rene Peterson continuing as CEO.
Why It's Important?
This acquisition is significant for Pilatus as it strengthens its market presence in Europe, particularly in Germany and Austria, which are key markets for the company. By acquiring Air Alliance, Pilatus can enhance its customer service and operational capabilities, leveraging synergies between manufacturing, sales, and operations. This move is part of Pilatus's strategy to expand its footprint and improve its service offerings in Europe, potentially leading to increased sales and market share. For Air Alliance, the merger provides opportunities for growth and access to Pilatus's resources and expertise.
What's Next?
The acquisition is subject to regulatory approvals, including from the German Federal Aviation Authority. Once approved, Pilatus will integrate Air Alliance's operations into its existing framework, aiming to enhance service delivery and customer satisfaction. The focus will be on leveraging the combined strengths of both companies to drive growth and innovation in the European market. Stakeholders, including employees and customers, will be closely watching the integration process and its impact on service quality and business operations.
