What's Happening?
The Philadelphia Flyers are set to host a Kids Day event on Saturday, January 31, as part of their game against the Los Angeles Kings. The event, presented by Xfinity, will feature Mr. Wolf, a character
from the DreamWorks Animation film 'The Bad Guys 2'. Mr. Wolf will be available for photos with fans at the Broad Street entrance before the game. Additionally, the first 500 fans under 12 years old will receive copies of two books inspired by the film. The event will also include various kid-friendly activities and food offerings, such as a special edition of the lookalike cam and exclusive deals on youth apparel at Xfinity Mobile Arena retail locations.
Why It's Important?
This event highlights the Flyers' efforts to engage with their younger fanbase and create a family-friendly atmosphere at their games. By incorporating popular characters from children's films, the Flyers are likely to attract more families to the game, potentially increasing ticket sales and enhancing the game-day experience. The inclusion of book giveaways and interactive activities also promotes literacy and creativity among young fans. Such events can strengthen community ties and foster a new generation of hockey enthusiasts, contributing to the long-term growth of the sport.
What's Next?
Following the Kids Day event, the Flyers will continue their community engagement with the upcoming Flyers Charities Carnival on February 1. This event will offer fans more opportunities to interact with the team and participate in charitable activities. The success of Kids Day could lead to more themed events in the future, further solidifying the Flyers' commitment to family-friendly entertainment and community involvement.
