What's Happening?
ISACA, in collaboration with the ISACA Foundation, is expanding its Digital Trust Workforce Development Program across several U.S. cities. This initiative, supported by a grant from the Caterpillar Foundation, aims
to equip over 130 learners with practical skills and ISACA certifications to enter the IT workforce. The program offers courses such as Computing Fundamentals and Cybersecurity Fundamentals, tailored to local needs and often taught by ISACA chapter members. Since its inception, the program has trained over 500 individuals. The expansion will roll out in cities including Miami Lakes, Houston, Chicago, Griffin, Athens, Pontiac, and Muncie throughout 2026.
Why It's Important?
The expansion of ISACA's program is significant as it addresses the growing demand for skilled professionals in the IT sector, particularly in cybersecurity and information governance. By providing accessible education and certification opportunities, the program helps bridge the skills gap in the tech industry, fostering a more inclusive workforce. This initiative not only supports individuals seeking to enter or advance in tech careers but also strengthens the overall digital economy by ensuring a steady pipeline of qualified professionals. The involvement of the Caterpillar Foundation underscores the importance of corporate support in workforce development.
What's Next?
As the program expands, it is expected to attract more participants and potentially inspire similar initiatives by other organizations. The success of this program could lead to further collaborations between educational institutions, corporations, and non-profits to enhance workforce readiness in other sectors. Stakeholders, including local governments and tech companies, may also engage in supporting or replicating such programs to meet regional workforce needs.
