What's Happening?
Ten NFL teams that have hired new coaches this offseason are set to begin their offseason programs next week. The Ravens will start on Monday, April 6, while the Cardinals, Falcons, Bills, Browns, Raiders, Dolphins, Giants, Steelers, and Titans will commence
on Tuesday. These teams will engage in meetings, strength and conditioning, and physical rehabilitation during the first two weeks. The second phase allows for on-field work without full-speed team drills, and the third phase includes team drills without live contact. Teams with returning coaches will start their programs later in April or early May.
Why It's Important?
The start of offseason programs is crucial for teams with new coaches as it sets the foundation for the upcoming NFL season. These programs provide an opportunity for coaches to implement new strategies, assess player fitness, and build team cohesion. The early start allows these teams to gain a competitive edge by preparing thoroughly for the season. For players, it is a chance to adapt to new coaching styles and improve their skills. The success of these programs can significantly influence team performance and standings in the upcoming season.
