Frontier Rare Earths Limited has announced a strategic technology supply and offtake agreement with Carester SAS, a leading rare earth separation specialist. The agreement involves deploying Carester's proprietary rare earth solvent extraction technology at Frontier's Zandkopsdrift project in South Africa. Additionally, the Industrial Development Corporation of South Africa has invested $20 million to fund a Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS) for the project, with first production targeted for 2030. The project aims to produce high-purity NdPr oxide and mixed heavy rare earth carbonate, positioning itself as a low-cost producer of battery-grade manganese and magnet rare earths outside China.
