What's Happening?
The Forest Preserve District of Will County has announced a series of programs for July, focusing on cultural and nature-based activities. These include the 'Our Storytellers – Pokagon Potawatomi Black Ash Baskets' exhibit at the Isle a la Cache Museum,
which explores the cultural significance of black ash basket weaving. Other activities include the 'It's Giving … Illinois' interactive hike at Plum Creek Nature Center, where participants can learn about Illinois state symbols and create artwork inspired by the 'Winged Ambassadors' exhibit. Additionally, the district is hosting a 'Sidewalk Chalk Contest' at Hidden Lakes Trout Farm, a 'Trail Safety – Helmet Check' at Whalon Lake, and a 'Boats, Bats and Barns' event at Riverview Farmstead Preserve.
