What's Happening?
Disneyland has upgraded its Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run ride to include new missions and destinations inspired by 'The Mandalorian and Grogu.' The enhancements, set to open on May 22, 2026, introduce new interactive elements and visual improvements
to the ride. Guests can now choose from different 'Star Wars' locations, such as Coruscant, Bespin, and the wreckage of the Death Star near Endor. The ride, which originally opened in 2019, has been updated to provide a more dynamic and engaging experience, with players taking on roles such as pilot, gunner, or engineer. The changes aim to address previous feedback and enhance the ride's appeal by offering more choices and a collaborative adventure.
Why It's Important?
The updates to the Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run ride reflect Disneyland's commitment to keeping its attractions fresh and engaging for visitors. By incorporating popular characters like the Mandalorian and Grogu, Disney is tapping into the widespread appeal of the 'Star Wars' franchise, potentially drawing more visitors to the park. The enhancements also demonstrate Disney's focus on interactive and immersive experiences, which are increasingly important in the competitive theme park industry. These changes could set a precedent for future updates to other attractions, as Disney continues to innovate and respond to guest feedback to maintain its position as a leader in the entertainment sector.
