The anime piracy website HiAnime has officially ceased operations after being offline for nearly three months. The site's staff confirmed the permanent shutdown through an official message, stating that efforts to reconnect with the website operators
and explore a possible return or rebrand had failed. HiAnime, which previously operated under the names Zoro and AniWatch, was one of the most widely used anime piracy platforms online. The shutdown comes amid increased pressure on piracy websites, with international anti-piracy authorities targeting such platforms. Earlier this year, GitHub removed over 900 projects linked to anime piracy following a complaint from anti-piracy firm Remove Your Media LLC, which collaborated with Crunchyroll and VIZ Media.
