Katie Stith, the softball coach at JSerra High School, has been named The Times' softball coach of the year for 2026. Stith, who is the daughter of renowned club softball coach Mike Stith, has led JSerra to its first Southern Section Division 1 championship.
This achievement marks a significant milestone in her coaching career, which spans eight seasons. Under her leadership, JSerra navigated a challenging regular-season schedule and successfully avoided upsets in the playoffs, finishing with a record of 25-8. The team secured victories against several prominent programs, including Norco, La Mirada, Oaks Christian, Orange Lutheran, and Garden Grove Pacifica. Key players such as pitcher Liliana Escobar and catcher Annabel Raftery played crucial roles in the team's success.
