With 11.2 seconds left on the clock and Corona del Mar trailing by one point, Coach Jason Simco orchestrated a play that resulted in Nolan Scott, a sophomore and football linebacker, scoring the winning basket. His brother, Maxwell Scott, contributed significantly with 35 points. The victory marked Coach Simco's first win against Los Alamitos in five seasons. Despite a strong performance from Los Alamitos' sophomore Isaiah Williamson, who scored 26 points, Corona del Mar emerged victorious, improving their record to 17-1.
