Sallaum Lines has announced the addition of two new Pure Car and Truck Carriers (PCTCs), MV Ocean Express and MV Ocean Navigator, to its Ocean Class fleet. These vessels, built by China Merchants Jinling Shipyard and registered under the Cyprus flag,
boast a cargo capacity of 7,400 CEU across 13 decks. They are equipped with LNG dual-fuel propulsion systems, which significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions and air pollutants, aligning with modern environmental standards. The delivery of these vessels marks a significant milestone in Sallaum Lines' fleet expansion, enhancing its ability to meet growing global trade demands, particularly in the China-Europe corridor.
Why It's Important?
The introduction of these eco-efficient vessels is crucial for Sallaum Lines as it addresses the increasing demand for reliable RoRo capacity, especially in the China-Europe trade route. By expanding its fleet with environmentally friendly ships, Sallaum Lines not only enhances its service reliability but also strengthens its commitment to sustainable operations. This move positions the company to better support global trade patterns and customer needs, potentially increasing its market share in the competitive shipping industry. The strategic partnership with China as a shipbuilding partner further underscores the importance of this expansion in reinforcing Sallaum Lines' global network.
What's Next?
Following the delivery, the MV Ocean Express and MV Ocean Navigator will enter commercial service, supporting Sallaum Lines' expanding RoRo network. The company plans to launch a dedicated China-Europe service in 2027, leveraging the new vessels' capacity and operational efficiency. This expansion is expected to enhance Sallaum Lines' ability to provide consistent and flexible services, meeting the evolving demands of global trade. The company will continue to invest in modern assets and sustainable operations, reinforcing its position as a forward-looking carrier in the international shipping industry.
