What's Happening?
Vault Minerals has successfully commissioned the first stage of its King of the Hills Plant Upgrade Project, located 25km north of Leonora. The upgrade includes expanding the plant's throughput capacity to 6 million tonnes per annum by installing a new
primary crusher and extending the conveyor belt. The project progressed on time and within budget, with up to 90,000 tonnes of ore expected to be processed starting March 31, 2026. The company is now moving forward with a second stage upgrade, which aims to increase plant capacity by 50% and is expected to be completed in the second half of the 2027 financial year.
Why It's Important?
The completion of the plant upgrade at King of the Hills is a significant milestone for Vault Minerals, enhancing its production capabilities and operational efficiency. By increasing the plant's capacity, Vault Minerals can better meet market demand and mitigate potential supply disruptions, particularly in light of geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. The upgrade also positions the company to capitalize on the growing demand for gold, which remains a valuable commodity in global markets. This development underscores the importance of infrastructure investment in maintaining competitive advantage in the mining industry.
What's Next?
Vault Minerals is set to proceed with the second stage of its plant upgrade, which will further boost its production capacity. The company has also stockpiled 15 million tonnes of ore containing an estimated 180,000 ounces of gold, providing a buffer against potential supply chain disruptions. As the upgrade progresses, Vault Minerals will continue to focus on optimizing its operations and exploring additional growth opportunities in the Goldfields-Esperance region. The successful completion of the upgrade could lead to increased profitability and market share for the company.
