The Department of Homeland Security has chosen Fortem Technologies to provide kinetic counter-drone solutions for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be held across 16 host cities in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. Fortem's DroneHunter® hexcopter
interceptor, which uses a net-based capture system, will be the primary tool to neutralize hostile drones without causing debris or communication interference. This system is particularly suited for dense stadium environments where safety is paramount. The event is expected to attract over one million international visitors, making it one of the most complex security operations for a professional sporting event. Fortem's technology was previously used at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, marking its second consecutive deployment for the tournament.
