OpenAI has launched a new cybersecurity initiative called Daybreak, which integrates advanced artificial intelligence (AI) models with Codex Security to enhance vulnerability detection and patch validation. This initiative aims to help organizations identify

Daybreak combines the intelligence of OpenAI models with Codex's capabilities to provide secure code review, threat modeling, and patch validation, making software more resilient from the outset. The initiative is currently available to organizations that request a vulnerability scan or contact OpenAI's sales team. Daybreak utilizes three models: GPT-5.5 for general use, GPT-5.5 with Trusted Access for Cyber for verified defensive work, and GPT-5.5-Cyber for red teaming and penetration testing. Major companies such as Akamai, Cisco, and Cloudflare are already integrating these capabilities under the Trusted Access for Cyber initiative.
