What's Happening?
The New Philadelphia Rotary Club has launched a contest inviting children aged 18 and younger to submit names for the iconic train at Tuscora Park. The contest aims to engage young community members and celebrate the park's attractions. Participants can
submit entries at the Tuscora Park main office or online, with a deadline of May 30. Entries will be judged on creativity, relevance, and memorability. The winner, to be announced on June 1, will receive prizes including a gift basket, a VIP package, and a custom plaque at the train station.
Why It's Important?
This contest fosters community engagement and encourages creativity among young residents. It provides an opportunity for children to contribute to a local landmark, enhancing their sense of ownership and connection to the community. The initiative also highlights the role of local organizations like the Rotary Club in promoting civic involvement and cultural heritage. By involving youth in such activities, the community can nurture future leaders and active participants in local affairs.
