The Hong Kong International Film Festival Society has announced the line-up for the Hong Kong-Asia Film Financing Forum (HAF), featuring a diverse selection of animation and genre projects. Notable projects include 'The Excreman – On the Road' by Brian Tse, 'Zsazsa Zaturnnah' by Avid Liongoren, and 'What My Bones Know' by Qin Yuqi. These projects are in various stages of production and will be presented at HAF's Works-in-Progress Open Pitch. The forum will also feature suspense dramas and crime thrillers, such as 'In The Name Of Right' by Zhou Jinghao and 'The Power Plant' by Tayfun Pirselimoglu.
The event will take place from March 17-19, alongside Filmart, as part of the HKIFF Industry Project Market.
Why It's Important?
The Hong Kong-Asia Film Financing Forum is a significant platform for filmmakers in the region, providing opportunities for networking, funding, and collaboration. By showcasing a diverse range of projects, HAF supports the growth of the film industry in Asia, encouraging innovation and creativity. The inclusion of both animation and genre films highlights the forum's commitment to diverse storytelling and the exploration of new cinematic techniques. This event not only benefits filmmakers by offering exposure and potential investment but also enriches the global film landscape by introducing unique narratives and perspectives. The projects presented at HAF have the potential to reach international audiences, contributing to the cultural exchange and understanding between different regions.
What's Next?
Following the announcement of the line-up, filmmakers will prepare to present their projects at the HAF event in March. This will involve refining pitches and seeking potential investors and collaborators. The forum will serve as a critical opportunity for filmmakers to secure funding and distribution deals, which are essential for the completion and success of their projects. Industry professionals and investors attending the event will evaluate the projects, potentially leading to partnerships and financial backing. The outcomes of the forum could significantly impact the participating filmmakers' careers and the future of their projects.
