Buddy Wiggins, a 32-year-old pool cleaner from Honolulu, Hawaii, has found a unique way to address his sports gambling addiction by offering free surf lessons to strangers. After reaching a low point in his life due to his addiction, Wiggins felt a calling
to change his life direction. He started the First Wave Project, where he and friends offer free surfing lessons to people who have never surfed before. This initiative not only helps Wiggins cope with his addiction but also provides confidence and inspiration to those he teaches. So far, Wiggins and his team have helped about 100 people through this project.
