Patrick Maroon, a three-time Stanley Cup champion, served as the grand marshal for the 2026 Gasparilla pirate parade in Tampa Bay. This annual event, themed around the legendary pirate Jose Gaspar, features a parade down Bayshore Boulevard. Maroon, a former Tampa Bay Lightning forward, helped kick off the festivities for the 2026 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series between the Lightning and the Boston Bruins at Raymond James Stadium. Sporting the team’s Stadium Series jersey, Maroon led the parade route, accompanied by the Lightning mascot, ThunderBug, who engaged the crowd by throwing beads. Maroon's involvement was praised by his former teammate Ryan McDonagh, who highlighted Maroon's significant impact on the team and the community.
Lightning forward Yanni Gourde also commended Maroon's continued community engagement.
