What's Happening?
Vault Strategic Mining has finalized a mineral property purchase agreement to acquire the Mirage-Mariposa Tungsten Mine, part of the Gray Eagle Project in California. This acquisition also includes the North Tungsten Project in Nunavik, Quebec. The Gray Eagle Project,
located approximately 10 kilometers east of Bishop in the White Mountains, consists of 33 unpatented lode claims covering about 681.8 acres. The area is known for its tungsten skarn mineralization and hydrothermal vein-style precious metal systems. Historical data from the U.S. Geological Survey indicates that the Mirage-Mariposa Mine was a past producer of tungsten and silver, with minerals such as scheelite, garnet, epidote, quartz, and argentite reported. Vault Strategic plans to apply modern exploration techniques to further define and potentially expand the mineralized zones.
Why It's Important?
The acquisition of the Mirage-Mariposa Tungsten Mine is significant for Vault Strategic as it enhances their U.S. historical mine portfolio, particularly with the inclusion of tungsten and precious metals. Tungsten is a critical mineral with various industrial applications, and securing domestic sources is vital for the U.S. economy. This move aligns with broader efforts to strengthen domestic supply chains for critical minerals, reducing reliance on foreign imports. The potential expansion of the mineralized zones through modern exploration techniques could lead to increased production capacity, benefiting the U.S. mining industry and contributing to economic growth.
What's Next?
Vault Strategic plans to engage with exploration crews to commence exploration activities at the Mirage-Mariposa site. The company aims to confirm and expand the mineralized zones using modern exploration methods. This could lead to further development and potential mining operations, subject to successful exploration results. The acquisition terms include staged payments totaling $380,000 and a 2% net smelter return royalty for the vendors, indicating a structured financial commitment to the project.
