What's Happening?
Rua Gold has announced promising results from its exploration program at the Reefton Project in New Zealand. The company has conducted drilling and surface sampling, revealing that the Supreme deposit remains open at depth and along strike. Notable results include
a 3.1-meter section with 3.2 grams per tonne of gold and a 7-meter section with 1.2 grams per tonne. The Caledonian deposit also showed potential, with drilling intersecting quartz reef structures and mineralization. Rua Gold holds 95% of the tenements in the Reefton district, an area with a rich history of gold mining dating back to 1872.
Why It's Important?
The findings at Reefton could significantly impact Rua Gold's strategic positioning in the gold mining industry. The potential for high-grade gold deposits and the expansion of known mineralization zones suggest a substantial opportunity for resource growth. This could attract investment and enhance the company's market value. The exploration success underscores the viability of the Reefton district as a major gold-producing area, potentially boosting local economies and employment.
What's Next?
Rua Gold plans to continue its exploration efforts, focusing on understanding the structural controls within the mineralized corridor at Supreme. The company aims to conduct more aggressive step-out drilling to target multi-million ounce deposits. These efforts could lead to the development of new mining operations, further solidifying Rua Gold's presence in the region.
