What's Happening?
Protein Industries Canada, in partnership with NS/TX Industries, New Protein International, and Infusd Nutrition, is launching a project to scale up manufacturing technology for whole-cut meat alternatives. The initiative aims to automate NS/TX's assembly
line and introduce whole-cut beef and pork alternatives using Canadian-sourced ingredients. This project is part of a broader effort to strengthen Canada's food system by building a domestic supply chain for high-value protein ingredients.

This project highlights the growing demand for sustainable and high-quality meat alternatives, driven by consumer interest in plant-based diets and environmental concerns. By scaling up production and improving nutritional profiles, the initiative supports Canada's position as a leader in the plant-based food industry.
