Simon Heys and Amanda Zerhusen emerged victorious in the 2026 Flying Pig Half Marathon held on May 3. Simon Heys, a Wilmington native and former PigWorks intern, completed the men's half marathon in one hour, nine minutes, and 58 seconds. Heys, who has
a history of competitive running at Wilmington College, expressed his satisfaction with achieving his goal of winning the race. Amanda Zerhusen, a sophomore at Mount St. Joseph and a McNicholas High School graduate, won the women's half marathon with a time of 1:19:50, narrowly missing the course record by one second. Zerhusen's performance was notable as she had recently completed her outdoor track season and overcame a previous injury to achieve this victory.
