Rockton, a small town near the Illinois/Wisconsin border, is hosting its 6th annual Pelican Fest this Saturday, May 16. The festival celebrates the presence of big white migratory pelicans in the area, offering a variety of activities for attendees. The event
will take place in downtown Rockton and the Nygren Wetland Preserve, featuring birdwatching tours, children's activities, and a costume-making contest. Organized by Jennifer Kuroda of the Sinnissippi Audubon Society and Kim Johnsen with the Natural Land Institute, the festival aims to raise awareness about these exotic birds and promote appreciation for nature.
