What's Happening?
Études Studio, a Paris-based menswear brand, has appointed Brice Groulier as its new CEO. Groulier, who previously served as the chief financial officer at Jacquemus, is tasked with reinforcing the brand's
cultural positioning and accelerating growth, particularly in accessories. The brand aims to amplify its message as a global cultural and lifestyle brand rooted in art. This strategic move follows the departure of cofounder José Lamali and the end of a collaboration with the French outdoor brand Aigle. The brand plans to expand its product offerings, including tailored pieces and leather jackets, and relocate its Marais store to a larger space that will also serve as a cultural hub. Additionally, Études Studio intends to grow its publishing division and establish partnerships with art institutions in France and the U.S.
Why It's Important?
The appointment of Brice Groulier as CEO marks a significant step for Études Studio in its quest to become a major player in the global fashion industry. By focusing on accessories and cultural collaborations, the brand is positioning itself to capture a larger market share and enhance its cultural footprint. This move is particularly important as the luxury market normalizes and operational clarity becomes a competitive advantage. The brand's strategy to expand in North America and strengthen wholesale partnerships indicates a focus on international growth. Groulier's experience in scaling fashion brands is expected to help Études Studio achieve its ambitions without compromising its cultural integrity.
What's Next?
Études Studio plans to roll out a cultural program starting in September, which will include collaborations with galleries and foundations in France and the U.S. The brand is also preparing to open a new flagship store in Paris next January during Paris Men's Fashion Week. In the U.S., the brand is planning its first pop-up in New York City, expected in late 2026 or early 2027. These initiatives are part of a broader strategy to establish Études Studio as a total lifestyle brand and a key player in the global fashion market.
