Caspian Offshore Construction (COC) has acquired a new anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessel, named Caspian Yili, from Sinopacific Engineering & Contracting. This vessel is the first in the SPA90 series and will be the largest in COC's fleet. Designed
for offshore operations, it features advanced capabilities such as 90 tonnes of bollard pull and diesel-electric propulsion. The acquisition is part of COC's strategy to enhance its offshore marine assets and expand its presence in international markets.
Why It's Important?
The acquisition of the Caspian Yili represents a significant step for COC in strengthening its position in the offshore marine services industry. With increased capabilities, COC can offer more comprehensive services to support complex offshore operations, potentially attracting new clients and contracts. This expansion aligns with global trends in the offshore industry, where companies are investing in advanced vessels to meet the growing demand for energy exploration and production.
What's Next?
The Caspian Yili is scheduled to join COC's fleet in the fourth quarter of 2026, following delivery and deployment preparations.
