What's Happening?
American Tungsten is progressing into the next phase of its drilling operations at the IMA Mine Project in Idaho, USA. The company has deployed two surface drill rigs and two underground rigs to the site, with plans to drill up to 35,000 feet, including
33 underground holes and 20 surface holes. A new crosscut is being developed on the D-level to establish underground drill stations and extend previously identified mineralization. CEO Ali Haji emphasized the scale and pace of the program, which aims to extend known mineralization and test high-priority targets. The company has completed 38 holes totaling over 16,500 feet and driven over 660 feet of drift at the IMA Mine. Initial drilling results from the Zero level of IMA have shown promising intersections of tungsten-bearing polymetallic veins.
Why It's Important?
The advancement of drilling operations at the IMA Mine is significant for American Tungsten as it seeks to revitalize a historically productive site. The IMA Mine, which produced substantial quantities of tungsten oxide between 1945 and 1957, holds potential for further resource extraction. The company's systematic exploration strategy could lead to increased production and economic benefits for the region. Successful drilling could enhance American Tungsten's position in the mining industry, potentially leading to increased investment and job creation in Idaho. The focus on extending known mineralization and testing new targets underscores the company's commitment to unlocking the mine's full potential.
What's Next?
American Tungsten plans to continue its drilling campaign with the aim of further delineating the mineral resources at the IMA Mine. The company has contracted additional drilling services and mobilized more equipment to the site. As drilling progresses, the company will likely release further updates on the results and any new discoveries. The success of this phase could lead to expanded operations and possibly the development of new mining infrastructure. Stakeholders, including investors and local communities, will be closely monitoring the outcomes of this exploration phase.
