John Deere has announced the expansion of its 8R wheeled and 8RX tracked tractor series with six new models, offering power ratings of 440 hp, 490 hp, and 540 hp. These tractors are designed to be autonomous-ready, enhancing efficiency during tillage
operations. They come equipped with the G5+ display, which provides access to precision agriculture technologies such as AutoTrac Turn Automation, AutoTrac Implement Guidance, and Autopath. The tractors also feature Machine Sync availability and optional JDLink Boost connectivity to ensure reliable data capture. According to Michael Porter, marketing manager for large tractors at John Deere, these enhancements make the tractors ideal for planting up to 1,200 acres daily, even with large planters or grain carts. The new models are powered by the JD14 engine, which offers maximum power and includes an optional Intelligent Power Management system for an additional 40 hp. The tractors also feature improved stopping power with an engine brake, increased hydraulic pump capacity, and enhanced maneuverability with a tight turn radius and Reactive Command Steering.
