What's Happening?
CBS Colorado, in partnership with Girls Inc. of Metro Denver and the Denver Museum of Nature & Science, is hosting the 12th Annual Girls & Science event. The program, running throughout March, includes an in-person kick-off event, video presentations,
and activity kits for girls. Female mentors will share their experiences to inspire girls to explore careers in STEM fields. The event is supported by sponsors such as PING Identity, Xcel Energy, DaVita, and Denver Health.
Why It's Important?
The Girls & Science event plays a vital role in encouraging young women to pursue careers in STEM, a field traditionally underrepresented by women. By providing mentorship and hands-on experiences, the event aims to break down barriers and inspire the next generation of female scientists and engineers. This initiative not only promotes gender diversity in STEM but also helps address the growing demand for skilled professionals in these fields, contributing to innovation and economic growth.
