What's Happening?
Wisconsin educators are invited to participate in two professional development programs focused on agriculture this summer. The programs, organized by Wisconsin Agriculture in the Classroom, aim to provide teachers with hands-on experiences and educational
resources to integrate agriculture into their curriculum. The Growing Minds Conference, a two-day event, will feature tours and workshops in Wisconsin and Minnesota, while the Summer Book Tour will explore local farms and the inspirations behind agricultural-themed books. These programs offer educators the opportunity to earn continuing education hours and enhance their teaching methods.
Why It's Important?
These educational programs are crucial for promoting agricultural literacy among educators and students. By providing teachers with firsthand experiences and resources, the programs aim to integrate agriculture into various subjects, enhancing students' understanding of food production and sustainability. This initiative supports the development of a more informed and engaged citizenry, capable of making educated decisions about food and environmental issues. Additionally, the programs foster collaboration among educators, creating a network of professionals dedicated to advancing agricultural education.
