What's Happening?
Dunk & Bright Furniture, a family-owned business based in Syracuse, is set to open a new store in Henrietta, New York. The grand opening ceremony, featuring a ribbon-cutting, is scheduled for April 9,
with the store officially opening to the public on April 10. The new location occupies a 72,000-square-foot space in the South Town Plaza, previously home to a Burlington store. This expansion marks Dunk & Bright's first store outside the Syracuse market. The company, founded by William Bright and now led by fourth-generation owner Joe Bright, offers a range of furniture, including American-made and custom pieces. The Henrietta store aims to breathe new life into an area that has struggled with vacancies in recent years.
Why It's Important?
The opening of Dunk & Bright Furniture in Henrietta is a significant development for the local economy, particularly for the South Town Plaza, which has faced challenges with vacant storefronts. The new store is expected to attract customers and increase foot traffic in the area, potentially benefiting other businesses in the plaza. Joe Bright's decision to expand into this location reflects confidence in the market's potential, driven by high visibility and traffic at the intersection of West Henrietta and Jefferson roads. This move could signal a revitalization of the plaza, encouraging further investment and development in the region.
