Accor, a leading global hospitality group, in collaboration with Kylian Mbappé's charity Inspired By KM (IBKM), has launched a new initiative called 'ibis unlocked'. This program is designed to assist young people who are Not in Education, Employment,
or Training (NEET) by providing them with pathways to regain confidence, develop skills, and access new professional opportunities. The initiative is being rolled out in Brazil, France, Morocco, and Thailand, leveraging Accor's extensive network of over 2,500 ibis hotels. The program includes digital training, support from NGOs, and immersive experiences in the hospitality industry. The goal is to address the global issue of youth unemployment, where millions face barriers such as lack of opportunities and role models. 'ibis unlocked' aims to offer a scalable solution to these challenges by combining digital tools, human support, and practical field experiences.

The 'ibis unlocked' program is set to expand further, with plans for a new deployment phase starting in autumn 2026. This phase will include an educational week in Brazil, bringing together young participants, beneficiaries, and industry professionals to share experiences and develop tailored employment pathways. Accor and IBKM aim to gradually expand the program geographically and involve other brands within the Accor Group to diversify opportunities and amplify its impact. The long-term goal is to support and certify 20,000 individuals furthest from employment by 2030, as part of Accor's 'Unlocking every talent's potential' initiative. This expansion will likely involve more partnerships with NGOs and increased engagement with local communities to ensure the program's success and sustainability.
