What's Happening?
Members of the Upper School Symphony and Chamber Orchestra held a concert at St. Savior’s Chapel during lunch on February 5. The event featured solo performances by students, including Sammy Elkhunovich, Jonas Novitch, Michael Zhao, Matteo Rabizadeh, Stella Bae, and Jessie Cai, who played pieces by renowned composers such as Anton Rubinstein, Ludwig van Beethoven, Lowell Liebermann, Benedetto Marcello, Johann Sebastian Bach, and Jean Sibelius. Upper School Orchestral Director Neli Nikolaeva emphasized the importance of balancing technical skill with personal expression in solo performances. Students like Michael Zhao shared their experiences of preparing for the concert, highlighting the challenges of time management and the support from teachers
and peers.
