A new high-profile hotel, the Kimpton Era Midtown, is set to open on March 10 at 32 W. 48th St. in Manhattan. Developed by Extell and part of the IHG Hotels & Resorts brand, the 33-story tower will feature 529 guest rooms. The hotel will host four food
and beverage venues, including an Italian-American themed restaurant, Bar Rocco, led by celebrity chef Rocco DiSpirito. Other dining options include The Parlor, a casual cafe, Amasa, a Latin steakhouse, and Jade Rabbit, a rooftop izakaya. These venues will be managed by the hospitality company Apiici. The hotel adds a modern glass structure to the block between Fifth and Sixth avenues, which is characterized by a mix of modern and prewar buildings.
