What's Happening?
Veloryx, a homeland security solutions company, is in advanced negotiations to acquire a 70% controlling stake in Aero Sol Aviation Solutions Ltd., an Israeli defense drone manufacturer. The acquisition, valued at approximately NIS 26 million, includes
an additional NIS 9 million investment to support Aero Sol's expansion. Veloryx aims to finalize a binding agreement by April. This move is part of Veloryx's strategy to become a multidisciplinary homeland security integrator, offering comprehensive solutions for cities, airports, and critical infrastructure. Aero Sol, based in Petah Tikva, has over 13 years of experience in supplying drone systems to defense and governmental clients, reporting annual revenues of NIS 15-20 million. The company specializes in intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) drones, known for their low acoustic signature and extended endurance.
Why It's Important?
The acquisition of Aero Sol by Veloryx is significant as it positions Veloryx to expand its technological base and presence in both defense and civilian markets. The unmanned systems sector is rapidly growing, driven by increased use of drones in defense operations and infrastructure security. By integrating Aero Sol, Veloryx aims to create technological and commercial synergies, enhancing its competitive edge against dominant players like Chinese manufacturers. This move could potentially strengthen Veloryx's market position in the fast-growing field of homeland security, offering modular and comprehensive solutions for military and civilian sectors.
What's Next?
Veloryx plans to expand Aero Sol's existing product line and develop a new strategic drone platform capable of competing globally. The company aims to challenge Chinese manufacturers in the commercial and tactical drone markets. Veloryx's CEO, Roy Bargil, emphasized the importance of creating an Israeli product that can compete in price and capabilities. The integration of Aero Sol is expected to bolster Veloryx's offerings in detection, monitoring, and counter-drone technologies, addressing rising global security tensions and the misuse of drones for hostile activities.
