in warehouses, leading to waste and market saturation when donated items were resold. LiquiDonate, founded by Disney Petit, uses AI to match returns with nonprofits, reducing shipping costs and preventing landfill waste. The software evaluates the condition and logistics of returns, optimizing for both financial and environmental outcomes. This approach has allowed Luxome to avoid warehouse returns unless items can be restocked, saving on processing and storage costs.

With retail returns estimated at $850 billion in 2025, the traditional approach often leads to waste, with many products ending up in landfills.
