What's Happening?
Strathmore Plus Uranium Corporation has announced significant results from its Spring 2026 exploration drilling program at the Agate Project in Wyoming's Shirley Basin District. The company reported an 81%
mineralization hit rate, with 39 out of 48 holes surpassing the cutoff grade. The drilling delineated a new Middle Sand mineralized trend over 2,500 feet and extended the existing Lower Sand trend by 1,000 feet westward. The Agate Project, adjacent to projects by Cameco and UEC, is positioned near UR-Energy’s in-situ recovery mine. The mineralization is shallow, largely below the water table, making it suitable for low-cost ISR recovery. Strathmore plans to advance permitting with the US Bureau of Land Management and the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality.
Why It's Important?
The successful expansion of the Agate Project's mineralized footprint could significantly impact the uranium industry, particularly in the U.S., by increasing domestic uranium supply. This development is crucial as the demand for uranium, driven by nuclear energy needs, continues to grow. The project's proximity to other major uranium operations enhances its strategic importance. The high mineralization rate and potential for low-cost recovery could position Strathmore as a key player in the uranium market, potentially reducing U.S. reliance on foreign uranium sources.
What's Next?
Strathmore will focus on obtaining necessary permits to advance the Agate Project. The company plans to submit a Plan of Operation to relevant authorities, which is a critical step towards commencing production. Future exploration will aim to expand the newly discovered Middle Sand trend, potentially increasing the project's resource base. Stakeholders, including investors and local communities, will be closely monitoring these developments, as they could lead to economic benefits and job creation in the region.
