The Milwaukee Brewers have strengthened their outfield by acquiring Luis Matos from the San Francisco Giants in exchange for cash. Matos, a 24-year-old outfielder, was designated for reassignment by the Giants last week, which limited their leverage in the transaction.
Once considered a Top 30 prospect in 2022, Matos has struggled to consistently perform at that level. Over three partial seasons with the Giants, he has posted a .231/.281/.369 slash line with 15 home runs, 61 RBIs, and seven stolen bases across 593 plate appearances.
