What's Happening?
Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) has signed a multi-year agreement with Sky Sports to broadcast its women’s boxing events in the UK. The deal includes two annual all-female fight cards, starting with MVPW-01 on April 5 in London. The inaugural
event will feature a lightweight unification fight between Caroline Dubois and Terri Harper, and a super bantamweight bout with Ellie Scotney and Mayelli Flores. This partnership aims to elevate women’s boxing by providing a platform for showcasing elite talent and championship-level action.
Why It's Important?
This partnership marks a significant step in promoting women's boxing, providing increased visibility and opportunities for female athletes. By aligning with Sky Sports, MVP can leverage a major broadcasting platform to reach a wider audience, potentially increasing the sport's popularity and commercial viability. This move reflects a growing recognition of women's sports and the demand for gender equality in athletic representation. It could inspire other sports organizations to invest in women's events, further advancing the cause of women's sports globally.
