Toyota Motor Corporation has signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding to join cellcentric as an equal shareholder alongside Volvo Group and Daimler Truck AG. This collaboration aims to accelerate the development, production, and commercialization
of fuel cell systems for heavy-duty transport and related applications. Cellcentric, established in 2021 as a joint venture between Volvo and Daimler Truck, will continue to operate as an independent entity. Toyota brings over 30 years of fuel cell development experience in the passenger car sector, which will complement the commercial vehicle engineering expertise of Volvo and Daimler Truck.
