What's Happening?
Members of the popular K-pop group BLACKPINK, LISA and JISOO, are expanding their careers into acting while also preparing for the release of their new mini album, 'Deadline'. JISOO is set to star in a new romantic comedy series titled 'Boyfriend on Demand', which will premiere on Netflix on March 6. The series follows a webtoon producer who uses a virtual dating simulation to escape reality. Meanwhile, LISA is collaborating with David Bernad, executive producer of 'The White Lotus', on a romantic comedy inspired by the film 'Notting Hill', also set to stream on Netflix. Before these projects launch, BLACKPINK will release 'Deadline' on February 27, featuring tracks such as 'GO', 'Me and my', 'Champion', and 'Fxxxboy', along with the previously
released single 'JUMP'.
Why It's Important?
The expansion of BLACKPINK members into acting signifies the group's growing influence beyond music, highlighting the versatility and broad appeal of its members. This move could further solidify BLACKPINK's presence in the global entertainment industry, attracting new audiences and expanding their fan base. The release of their new mini album 'Deadline' is also significant as it continues to build on the group's musical success, potentially leading to increased sales and streaming numbers. The dual focus on music and acting projects reflects a strategic diversification that could enhance the group's brand and marketability.
