Kinema Citrus has announced the premiere date for its new anime, 'Goodbye, Lara,' set for July 5, 2026. The series is part of the studio's 15th anniversary projects and features a fantasy romance narrative centered on a mermaid princess named Lara. The story
follows Lara as she falls in love with a human prince and sacrifices her life in the sea to live on land. However, she is tricked into drinking a potion that turns her into bubbles, disappearing into the sea. Two hundred years later, she is reborn in Japan's Lake Biwa, continuing her quest for true love. The anime is directed by Takushi Koide, with character designs by Shiori Tani and music by Yuma Yamaguchi. The voice cast includes Hana Hishikawa and Nana Kawaishi, among others.
