What's Happening?
Kevin Lines, an experienced auctioneer and picture specialist, has launched a new art consultancy business, Lines & Son, with his son Freddy. The consultancy, which began operations earlier this month, specializes in paintings, fine art, and estate collections
across Norfolk. As part of their launch, they have opened a gallery space in Wymondham at Williams & Parfitt, providing a venue for clients to view art, discuss their needs, and receive consultations. Kevin Lines brings over 27 years of experience in the field, having previously worked at Keys of Aylsham and held senior roles at Bishop & Miller and Hansons Norfolk. The business aims to offer a range of professional services, including valuations, probate support, cataloguing, and collection management.
Why It's Important?
The launch of Lines & Son represents a continuation of a family tradition in the fine art and antiques valuation sector, which has been a part of the Lines family for three generations. This new venture not only preserves the family's legacy but also introduces a personalized and independent service to the Norfolk region. The consultancy's establishment could enhance the local art scene by providing collectors, dealers, and estate clients with expert advice and management services. This development may also stimulate economic activity in the area by attracting art enthusiasts and collectors to the newly opened gallery space.
What's Next?
Lines & Son plans to build strong relationships with clients by offering tailored services that cater to both single-item valuations and the management of entire collections and estates. The gallery space in Wymondham will serve as a hub for art consultations and exhibitions, potentially hosting events that could draw attention from the broader art community. As the business grows, it may expand its services beyond Norfolk, reaching a wider audience in East Anglia and possibly further afield.
