What's Happening?
Heavy Minerals has announced an exploration target for its Hardrock Almandine Garnet Project in South Australia, specifically at the Kanmantoo deposit and tailing storage facility. The target is estimated to be between 30 million and 50 million tonnes,
with a garnet grading of 17% to 25%, translating to 5.1 million to 12.5 million tonnes of contained garnet. The project includes tailings from Hillgrove Resources' copper concentrator. Heavy Minerals is currently in discussions with potential funders and garnet distributors, with plans to make a financial investment decision soon.
Why It's Important?
The development of the Kanmantoo Garnet Project represents a significant opportunity for Heavy Minerals to expand its operations and increase its market presence in the industrial minerals sector. The project's potential to be long-life, even at the lower range of resources, suggests a stable future for the company. Securing funding and distribution agreements will be crucial for advancing the project and realizing its economic potential. This development also highlights the importance of strategic partnerships and investment in resource exploration to drive growth in the mining industry.
