The 'Animorphs' books, created by Katherine Applegate and Michael Grant, feature teenagers who gain the ability to morph into animals to fight against the parasitic alien race known as Yeerks. The adaptation is being written and executive produced by Bayan Wolcott, with Scholastic involved in the production. The original book series sold over 35 million copies worldwide and previously inspired a live-action TV series on Nickelodeon.
